Public Information Act
Question:
What constitutes a valid public information request?
Answer:
A valid public information request must be in writing. It should include specific details as to what information is being sought. Records regarding an individual should contain the person's full name and/or date of birth, whereas records regarding a property should contain the property address. Language such as "any and all" and "etc." should be avoided, as this does not specifically state what information is being requested.
